The Sadhana Clean Water Project would not have been possible to accomplish without the generous contributions made by several organizations and individuals. First and foremost, we would like to thank Whitman College for its support and encouragement towards Whitman Direct Action (WDA). In particular, we would like to thank the Asian Studies Department, Professor Bob Carson, the Environmental Studies Department and related alumni funds, Provost Dean Lori Bettison-Varga, and ASWC. We would also like to thank the extremely motivated fundraising wing of WDA for their determined and exhausting efforts to support this project. The financial contributions and support we have received from you has not only enabled this year’s project but has supported WDA’s goals of developing as a sustainable non-profit, non-governmental organization (NGO).

WDA would also like to extend our thanks to Professor Raechelle Mascerenhas for her constant guidance and support during the planning and implementation of the Sadhana Clean Water Project. Professor Shampa Biswas and Professor Jonathan Walters were amongst many others of our teachers who have been a great encouragement to WDA’s endeavor. The Appropriate Technology Study Group would not have been able to fulfill its ambitious goal of writing a report based in the Kolwan Valley, Maharashtra if not for the help of the hardworking students from the Mahindra United World College of India. WDA would also like to thank Mr. D Shivanandan for his advice, support and commitment to making sure this project was a success. Lastly, we would like to thank the numerous other individuals and organizations that we have not mentioned here that have helped WDA realize its potential. Thank you all for your trust and belief in WDA, without your help none of this would be possible.
